Being prepared.....are we ever?

It appears that a couple of weeks out from our foray into Sri Lanka there are serious questions to be asked .....and too many late night internet searches to be done for 'essentials' that may not prove to be so essential! With six of us going the capacity to generate questions ranging from vital information to total trivia is endless!!

This week the unknowns have included discussions about:

The merits of Pee Wees (or is it She Wees?) versus the hazards of squat toilets (my advice is to start practicing squats now!)

Who is responsible for Vegemite?

Do any of us need more scarves? (A definite NO to that one!!)

Is 500 soap sheets too many for 6 women and three weeks in Sri Lanka?

Who is bringing the sharp knife for cutting limes? And, of course the perennial question about the amount of gin we will need for nightly
 Gin and Tonics?

Can we justify the purchasing of gems, and should we buy those we coveted, but left behind, on our last trip more than ten years ago?

Do we sound ancient if we start to discuss purchasing napery and manchester whilst we are away?

How many Shankari Chandran books can we read in a short period of time to provide important background to our visit?

Is it time to replace the well-travelled but worn luggage so it doesn't burst open to reveal all of our underwear at an embarrassing moment?

And most importantly - which currency and how much do we need???????

The (Travelsmith) packing checklist has been circulated but I note that contraception is on the list: not something any of us will need! It also includes medication which I'm sure we will be carrying in vast quantities given our age and infirmities!

Two weeks to go and looking good to cover any contingency (we fervently hope!)
